Most research studies are judged by Validity and Reliability of the instrument or tool they used . in statistical research refers to the ability of the instrument to measure what it claims to measure . refers to the ability to measure variables consistently over time . In experimental research there is a ( n ) variable which is manipulated and a ( n ) variable in which we hope to measure a change . Good quality quantitative research attempts to eliminate and reduce the effect of variables . The latter can be thought of as Independent variables over which researcher's has no direct . If these variables affect the results they are sometimes called variables . Qualitative researchers tend to talk about when the describe quality in their research . Credibility describes how well the patient's experiences are matched by the of the researcher . refers to the transferability of findings to the experience of the reader of the research study . relates to the tracking of the changes and shifts i the researcher's thinking while is the presence of the data in both the working documents used during the analysis and in the final text .
