Basic plan: create and play for free

What the Basic plan includes

The Basic plan is Educaplay's free account. It never expires, asks for no card and is yours the moment you create your account. With it you can:

  • Create unlimited games in all 20 game types (Quiz, Crossword, Word Search, Froggy Jumps, AsterQuiz, Matching, Memory…).
  • Unlimited players, even at the same time, with no account needed.
  • Share by link, QR code, iframe or the WordPress plugin.
  • Challenges and live Multiplayer Sessions, in full.
  • Reports with the score and time of every game played in the last month.
  • Ray, the AI assistant, with 5 games to try it out.

What is capped or reserved for the paid plans is further down, under Basic plan limits.

Unlimited games and players

Create as many games as you want, in any of the 20 types, and share them with your class, your whole school or anyone else. There's no cap on games or on players, not even when everyone plays at once.

Your players don't need an account or an email: they type a name in the Nickname field and play. If you'd rather decide the name their scores are saved under, create up to 5 guests and give them their code.

You can also make copies of your games, or of other users' games, to adapt them, and link YouTube videos with no limit.

Creating games: by hand or with Ray

There are two ways to create: filling in the fields yourself or asking Ray, the AI assistant. Give it a topic, a document or an explanation and it builds the game in under a minute. On the Basic plan you get 5 games generated with Ray to try it; games you build by hand don't count. Paid plans include extended use of Ray.

Two things to keep in mind:

  • One game per hour after your fifth: after your first 5 games, each new creation (by hand, with Ray or by duplicating) waits an hour from the previous one and goes through an ad. On the Advanced plan that pause disappears.
  • Minimum quality to publish: a game needs 25 points on the editor's quality index before it can be published. On a paid plan it publishes either way.

Sharing and integrating your games

From the Share box you get the direct link, the QR code and the iframe to embed the game on your website or blog (on WordPress, with Educaplay's free plugin). All unlimited.

With a trial cap:

Challenges (a competition with a Game Pin) and live Multiplayer Sessions are included in full on the Basic plan.

Reports

In Reports you see who played and the score and time of every game from the last month. To keep a longer history, see all of each player's answers and export the data to Excel or Google Sheets, you need the Academic plan or the Commercial plan (the Advanced plan extends the history to 3 months).

Advertising

The Basic plan is supported by ads. The people who play your games see ads in the game and on its page, and you see them as you browse the catalog, the search and the game pages. There are no ads in your own panel (My games, editor, Reports) or in the games your students open from Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams. Linked YouTube videos may carry their own ads on any plan.

To remove ads from your games and from all of Educaplay, the Advanced plan is the first step up.

Basic plan limits

The four plans are compared on the Plans page, and taking one out is done from your account in a couple of minutes.

Frequently asked questions

Is Educaplay free?

Yes. The Basic plan is free, with no time limit and no card. You can create and share games with it for as long as you like; the paid plans add features, they don't unlock the basic ones.

How many games can I create for free?

As many as you want. The only brake is the pace: from your fifth game on, one per hour.

Do my students have to sign up?

No. They play without an account or an email, with a nickname. If you want them to always come in under a fixed name, use My guests (up to 5 on the Basic plan).

Can I use Educaplay with Google Classroom for free?

Yes. The Basic plan includes 5 trial uses of the integrations with Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams and LTI platforms (Moodle, Canvas…). For unlimited integrations, the Academic plan.

Are my games private?

No. On the Basic plan every game is Public: it appears in Educaplay's catalog and in search engines. Hidden visibility and required identification come with the Advanced plan.

Are there ads?

Yes, in the games and in the catalog. There are none in your panel or in games opened from Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams. The Advanced plan removes them.

Can I print my games?

Yes, up to 5 different games as a printable PDF. Unlimited from the Academic plan.

What does the Advanced plan give me?

No ads, no pause between creations, extended use of Ray, your own videos (up to 5 GB), all the advanced game options and Reports for the last 3 months.
