Create Educaplay games from ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude
Step-by-step guides for each assistant: ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude.
What you can do
If you already plan your lessons in ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude, there is nothing to copy and paste into Educaplay. You connect your account once and ask the assistant for the game in the same chat, using what you have already discussed. From the chat you can:
- Create games in 20 types: Quiz, Crossword Puzzle, Word Search Puzzle, Froggy Jumps, AsterQuiz, Fill in the Blanks, Matching Pairs, Dictation, Dialogue, Video Quiz, Jigsaw Puzzle… Every type except the Map Quiz.
- Write and edit their content: questions and answers, words and clues, pairs, texts and dialogues.
- Illustrate them with images from Educaplay's bank or from a photo library.
- Attach a YouTube video to a Video Quiz and generate the audio for dictations and dialogues.
- Classify them (language, age and subject) and adjust the game options.
- Decide who can see them and publish them, including the games you already had.
Nothing is published until you ask. New games stay unpublished; when you ask the assistant to publish, it checks what is missing (title, description, classification…) and tells you.
The games stay in your Educaplay account, under My games, and you share them as always: by link, in Google Classroom, in Microsoft Teams or in your platform. Your students don't need any assistant.
Requirements
All three need two things: an Educaplay account (your Google, Microsoft or ClassLink account works) and connecting it once. When you connect, you sign in to Educaplay and click Authorize; the authorization lasts one year, so you don't repeat it in every conversation.
| Assistant | How it is added | What the assistant requires |
|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT | Plugin from the ChatGPT plugin directory, with the Install plugin button | A ChatGPT account. Plugin availability depends on the plan, the region and the workspace; in ChatGPT workspaces an admin turns them on. |
| Claude | Custom connector; there is a link that pre-fills the form | A Claude account. The free plan allows one custom connector; on Team and Enterprise an organization owner adds it. |
| Gemini | Custom app, by pasting the address of the Educaplay server | Google limits it to personal Google accounts (not school accounts), users aged 18 or over, in the US and with the interface in English. Once connected, it also works in the mobile app. |
Educaplay plans: it works with every plan.
How to connect it
In all three cases it takes three steps: add Educaplay in the assistant, sign in to Educaplay and authorize, and ask for your first game. The steps with screenshots are in each assistant's article: ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude.
How to create your first game
Ask the way you would ask a colleague. A few examples:
- "Create a 10-question quiz about the water cycle for 10-year-olds."
- "Turn this text into a crossword for my students."
- "Add an image to each question of my water cycle quiz."
- "Publish my water cycle quiz so my students can play it."
In ChatGPT you can start the request with "Educaplay"; in Gemini you type @Educaplay at the start of the message; in Claude you just ask. The first time it uses each tool, the assistant asks for permission (Allow once or Allow always), and it asks for confirmation before publishing. The game appears under My games; in ChatGPT the reply also includes the Open in editor and Play links.
What else you can ask for
- "Show me my latest Educaplay games."
- Change a game's visibility or unpublish it.
- Classify an old game, add images to it or add the audio.
- Review a game you already had and fix a question.
What it uses up
Your assistant writes the game with its own AI. Classifying the game or describing the images uses the Ray budget of your plan, and generating audio uses the plan's audio quota, just like in the editor. If the Ray budget has run out, those two actions return an error, but creating and editing keep working.
What you still do on the website
Uploading your own files (images, audio, video), deleting and duplicating games, organizing folders and creating Map Quizzes. All of that from My games and the editor, as before.
How to disconnect it
From Educaplay, in your profile settings, under Application tokens: each connection appears with its origin ("Connector") and a Revoke button. Once revoked, the assistant loses access even if it is still installed there. You can also remove it in the assistant itself; each article explains how.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an Educaplay account?
Yes. The assistant creates the games in your account, and that is where you share them with your students. If you don't have an account, you create one for free when you authorize.
Does it work with Educaplay's free plan?
Yes. It works with every Educaplay plan, the Basic plan included.
And with the free plan of ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude?
In Claude, yes: the free plan allows one custom connector. In Gemini, what matters is the account (a personal Google account, in the US and in English), not the plan. In ChatGPT, a free account used it in our tests, although OpenAI warns that plugin availability depends on the plan, the region and the workspace.
Do my students have to use the assistant?
No. They play by link, from Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams or your platform, like with any Educaplay game, and with no account in any assistant.
Is anything published without my asking?
No. New games stay unpublished until you ask, and the assistant asks for confirmation before publishing.
How is this different from Ray?
Ray is built into Educaplay and there is nothing to connect. With ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude the game is built from the conversation you already have there. The result is the same: a game in your account, which you edit and share the same way.
What can the assistant do in my account?
What you can do from the website: create, edit and publish games and check your reports. That is what you authorize when you connect, and you can revoke it at any time from Application tokens.
Can I use it from my phone?
The connection is made from the web and stays in your assistant account. In Gemini, once connected, it also works in the mobile app.
