How to create your Educaplay account
Do you need an account? Only to create games
An Educaplay account lets you create your own games, share them and check your players' results in the Reports section. It is free and takes a minute to set up.
To play, on the other hand, no account is needed. Your players can identify themselves with a nickname, with a guest code or with their ClassLink school account, and their scores are recorded all the same. If your students are only going to play, don't ask them to sign up: they don't need to. You'll find all the options in How your players' scores are saved.
Only for over-16s
To create an account you have to declare that you are over 16 and accept the data protection clause and the terms of use of the service. Under-16s cannot create an Educaplay account. They don't need one either: they play and save their scores by identifying themselves with a nickname, with a guest code or with their ClassLink school account.
Creating the account with your email
- On www.educaplay.com, click Log in and then Sign up for free.
- Enter your name, your email and the password you want to use on Educaplay.
- Tick the box where you accept the data protection information and the terms of use and declare that you are over 16. The second box, to receive information about tutorials and news, is optional.
- Click Sign up.
Creating the account with Google, Microsoft or ClassLink
If you'd rather not manage yet another password, use the Use your usual account box, available both in Sign up and in Log in: click the Google, Microsoft or ClassLink button and log in with that account. Your Educaplay account is created on the spot, linked to that email, and from then on you log in by clicking the same button.
Important if your school uses ClassLink: ClassLink student accounts do not create any Educaplay account. The student is only identified by their name so that their games are recorded, just like when they play from the Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams or other LTI integrations, or when they identify with a nickname. You'll find the details in How to identify yourself on Educaplay with ClassLink.
Logging in
Click Log in, at the top right, and enter your email and password, or use the Google, Microsoft or ClassLink button if you created the account that way. If you tick Keep me logged in on this browser, you won't have to identify yourself every time.
If you don't remember your password, click Forgot your password? and follow the steps to reset it.
And if what you have is a 9-letter guest code, that is not an account: use it in the Guest account box on that same screen.
Frequently asked questions
Do my students need to create an account to play?
No. They play without an account, without an email and without signing up. For their scores to appear in your Reports, all they need is to identify themselves with a nickname, with a guest code or with their ClassLink school account.
Can under-16s create an account?
No. Signing up requires declaring that you are over 16. Under-16s can play and save their scores without an account, exactly like any other identified player.
Is the Educaplay account paid?
No. The account is created for free and gives you the Basic plan. If you need more capacity or features, you can move up to an Advanced, Academic or Commercial plan.
I signed up with Google, Microsoft or ClassLink. What is my password?
You don't have an Educaplay password: your account is linked to that service. To get in, always click the corresponding button in the Use your usual account box in Log in.
I identified with my ClassLink student account. Where is my account?
No account was created: identifying with a ClassLink student account only records your games under your name; it does not open an Educaplay account or let you create games. To have your own account you need to sign up through any of the ways in this article and be over 16.
